Heading south as she works her way up a slight rise on Highway 1, Alicia Irwing of Darwin, Australia peddled south from Vancouver, BC with her husband Miles Irwing to Tijuana, Mexico in August 2006. They planned to rent a hire car to drive to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon before leaving for home. As to the Pacific Coast Bike Trail, they enjoyed Washington the most as a state but identified Big Sur and Avenue of the Redwoods in northern California as the highlights.
